  • Hey hey! Guess what?

Well, if you've talked to me much, you know I'm playing on a softball team. This is TPA's first year of having a softball team. And you know what? WE'RE GOING TO CHAMPIONSHIPS!

We've just won our first two games in the tournament, and now, we're probably going up against Dobson for the finals.

In other news: I think I want sleep now. Or maybe time to swim. I can't decide.

Wow, that's so sad that I dropped my Xanga. *sigh* Thanks to Grace for reminding me that it existed.

Well, I like it more than MySpace, but I'm starting to think that I might get a Myspace now... Here's my problem:

Mother: "You don't use Myspace do you?"
Me: "'Course not. What did you take me for?"
Mother: "Well, good. Because I watching some documentary-"
    "Again?!"
"Yes. Now. Let me finish. And it's really dangerous!"

-Excerpt from a conversation a few weeks ago.

So, maybe no Myspace for me. But, still, I'll try.

A second thing: School is almost over.
    Good points:
    -Duh. Summer.
-No more crappy classes that take up the whole morning and ruin my mood and energy for the rest of the day.
-Time to hang out, just for fun, instead of time to hang out because you can't figure out something that you scribbled in your notes one day, quickly, and assumed you'd be able to read it in three weeks when you have to study.

    Bad points:
    -Finals are coming up.
-I have to leave the classes I actually like. (Yay, Latin III~)
-OM is coming up, and we're missing Joe at Worlds (in Michigan. >_<)
-Grapes of Wrath essay. Is that book supposed to make me think? It doesn't, really. It just kinda disturbs me with it's semi-pornographic qualities. Seriously. I don't want to write that essay. Therefore, if school doesn't end, then I won't have to write it! (Yeah, I have great flawed logic.)

Why do the bad points outweigh the good when it's something I have no say in?! Why can't they outweigh the good when I CAN do something about it?! It's like a morphed form of Murphy's Law.

    -That is all.-

  • What's left to talk about? It's been a week, and I am SO slow trying to organize it all. I have all these pictures and memories, but nothing to say about them. China was really something that just has to be experienced.

One thing that I did notice, though, was the sheer number of temples. There were temples and paths for everything. There was a house for the emporer to change in after a certain ceremony. There was a tea-drinking pagoda. It's all very... organized. Funny how that once you get out of the temple areas, all you see is a milling multitude of people. Not organized at all.

All these temples take up space. China isn't that big to begin with, and when you think about how many people live there.... Some of the smaller towns were still as big as Phoenix. Some of the larger ones... like Shanghai. Well. That was the most crowded place I've been in my life. It doesn't help sticking out as much as I do.

Shanghai is like New York. Multiplied several times. The tallest buildings around here don't even hold a candle to their sky scrapers. It's one of those dizzying views.

So now China is over. My posts will go back to their original boring qualities. Philosophical/anything abnormal never worked for me anyway. xD

  • So I’m back now. I brought stuff for almost everyone. I have a squad of new dragons for my collection. And I am still sorting out bags. You know, those cool little magnet things that weren’t allowed through the security? Well, it turns out I still have two of them. Hah. Stupid people.

First Stop: The Temple of Heaven. This is my answer to the phrase “Stupid Monument”. This is also when I learned that everything in China represents something. I mean, the shape of the walls! *sigh* Also, they have a love for building high thresholds that you have to step over LEFT foot first. Or right, if you’re a guy.

Next Stop: The forbidden city. When I first heard this, I thought it was an underground thing. It’s not. It’s sunny. Did you know that sun follows me? We go to Beijing, it’s not raining. We come back, it litterally stops raining the day we get back. Of course, we were really only in Beijing again for a few hours... On the way between Shanghai and San Fransico.

I learned some interesting things about dragons. Five toes means its an emporer’s dragon. Four means it’s something else. The ball in it’s mouth represents the sun. As in, it’s so powerful it can play with the sun.

Also, because the number 9 is the highest masculine number, only the emporer could use it.

When we got out of the forbidden city, I was about ready to die. Too much walking for my non-tourist blood. Then, I discovered Tiananman Square. Or something spelled similar to that. It was pretty cool. We took this group photo. (No, I will not show it to you. I look terrible, and that’s what matters!) There was a bit of a thing over these guys wanting to take a picture with me. I swear, all of China goes “GASP! WHITE TOURIST GIRL! QUICK, GET HER!” when I’m around. What am I, loot?

Whenever I see the obelisk, I am reminded of the way that any news anchor in Tiananmen Square always has it in the background. They’re like “LIVE, IN TIANANMEN! *point to obelisk* See?”

I have a bangle. I can’t take it out of the box and put it on until Volleball is over. It’s very pretty. Jade. :D

I don’t know what else to say about that section of my adventure. So that’s it, then? I guess. More later.
